Support alongside prescribed treatment
For adults already prescribed GLP-1 medicine, Lyxaa supports food quality, hydration, digestion, muscle preservation and progress review alongside the prescribing clinician's plan.
What GLP-1 support is
Reduced appetite can change meal size, fluid intake, digestion and the ability to meet protein and micronutrient needs. Support should respond to those changes without taking over the prescriber's role.
Programme information by Lyxaa · Updated 2 September 2026GLP-1 support is wraparound nutrition, movement and monitoring care for someone using prescribed weight management medicine. It does not provide dose changes, replace the prescriber or guarantee weight loss.
Eating less is not the same as eating well. The plan looks at protein, fibre, meal size, timing, fluids and foods that remain tolerable when appetite is lower.
Side effects are not treated as a normal inconvenience. Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea or other symptoms should be discussed and escalated to the prescribing clinician when needed.
Muscle and function remain visible. Weight trend is reviewed alongside strength, mobility, energy, food tolerance and body composition where useful.
The support plan
The priority changes with symptoms, appetite, current intake, movement capacity and the prescriber's plan.
Bring the medicine name, current dose, prescriber details, start date, recent reports and the symptoms or questions you want to discuss.
Meals are adjusted around reduced appetite and normal food. The goal is adequate nourishment, not forcing large portions or relying on a generic diet chart.
Strength, walking and mobility are matched to current capacity. Personal training or supervised EMS may be considered for suitable in-clinic clients.
Follow-up reviews weight, waist, food tolerance, symptoms, energy, strength and adherence. Medicine concerns are directed back to the prescriber.
What changes when appetite changes
The plan is not built around special products. It uses practical portions and familiar food where possible, adjusted to your health and tolerance.
A useful question
Can this meal support protein, hydration and comfort at the same time? What works can vary across treatment stages. Follow-up matters because the same meal size, timing or texture may not remain comfortable.
Use manageable meals and prioritise nourishment without forcing volume.
Record what is happening and involve the prescriber when symptoms are persistent, severe or concerning.
Review intake, hydration, recovery and a suitable muscle preserving movement plan.
Roles and safety
Lyxaa's support plan works alongside the clinician who prescribed your medicine. Dose, discontinuation and medicine choice stay with that clinician.
Food intake, protein and fibre, hydration, digestion, movement, strength, sleep, behaviour and progress measures.
Eligibility, medicine selection, dose changes, treatment interruption and the investigation of adverse effects.
Your medicine list, prescriber details, relevant reports and a clear record of side effects or food tolerance changes.
Common questions
No. Dose changes, stopping and medicine selection must be discussed with the prescribing clinician.
A nutrition professional can review meal size, protein, fibre, fluids and food tolerance. Significant or persistent symptoms must also be discussed with the prescriber.
Function and strength matter during weight change. The plan may include suitable strength, walking or mobility work alongside adequate nutrition.
Some consultations can happen online. Body composition, physical assessment, personal training and EMS may require an in-person visit.
This page is for support around an existing prescription. If you need an eligibility assessment, use the Medical Weight Management pathway.
